Chinese New Year traffic jams as locals drive away for holidays

Highways across China were congested with vehicles as locals travelled to visit their families for the incoming Lunar New Year.

Footage taken on January 27 shows motorists facing severe gridlock on the roads, with the traffic jam lasting well until evening. The travel rush is said to be the world's largest yearly human migration and usually lasts for about 40 days.
